What kind of trip are you planning?
Choose a suitable category for your trip. So, are you planning more of a party vacation or a stay that should only revolve around food? Therefore, choose a category that fits your trip and your needs.
Then, decide if you would rather do a CoWorking or a Guided Trip.
What is a CoWorking Trip? A CoWorking Trip is a trip where you work together with others at a nice place and explore the area after work and on weekends. Here’s how to plan the perfect co-working trip.
A Guided Trip, on the other hand, awakens true vacation feelings. The TripLeader becomes the guide who plans and implements the entire trip. TripMates only have to take care of the flights (and food); the rest is taken care of by the TripLeader. A TripLeader decides where the trip will go and what adventures you will have on the ground. Create a perfect trip title
The title is the first thing TripMates read when they come across your trip. It should be clear where your trip is going and what you plan to do. TripMates should know from the first moment if you are planning a sailing trip or, rather, a hiking tour.
Examples of successful titles:
- “Sailing across the Greek Mediterranean.”
- “Remote Work in Seville 💻 🇪🇸 – with an (almost) Local”
- “South of Umbria bike tour”
All the titles show TripMates directly what to expect and where to go, so someone who hates cycling can go the other direction from the Umbria bike tour trip 😉.
Create a perfect trip description
To reach more people and future TripMates, we recommend that you write in English. Because over 2 billion people speak English, you can easily reach the whole world with your trip.
To create the perfect description, you should write at least 900 characters. Your description should include the following:
- Where should the journey go?
- What are you going to do? Are you going hiking or lying on the beach?
- Who are you, and what do you hope to get from the trip?
- Why do you want to go there?
- Explanation of costs to show transparency.
As a rule, the more detailed the description, the more it helps TripMates to visualize their trip with you and know what to expect. Don’t worry – your text can’t be too long. TripMates who read the description usually want to go on the trip because of your great title.
Create a perfect trip itinerary
The next step is to plan the stops or stations you want to see on your trip. Again, try to be as detailed as possible. What do you want to see in a particular place? What do you want your day to look like? How long will you stay in one place? The perfect JoinMyTrip trip has at least two stops, preferably more. Take your TripMates with you on your trip before you even start. Add photos for each stop; please don’t just take images from Google but take royalty-free images from unsplash.com or pixabay.com.
The devil is in the details
In the next step, you determine how many TripMates should accompany you and use the cost calculator to determine your travel price.
Your trip must cost at least 50€; there are no upper limits. However, the price should be realistic, and if you estimate 1000€ for a week in Madeira, you should explain in your description why the trip costs as much as it does. So what is included in the price?
Also, don’t forget to include a small buffer. We recommend 10%, this will cover you in case hotel costs or activities are a bit more expensive than expected. If you have any money left over at the end, you can invite everyone for dinner at the end. After that, be sure to link your account to receive payouts.
