A TripLeader is someone who plans and creates trips on the JoinMyTrip platform for other travelers (TripMates) to join in on their adventures. TripLeaders are passionate travelers who love to experience new cultures and it’s something they wish everyone could experience through their eyes. They are also a natural when it comes to being organized and are planners at heart. That being said, a TripLeader is most importantly a leader!

How do I become one?

The beauty of JoinMyTrip is that anyone can become a TripLeader if they want to be, it’s easier than it sounds! It’s easy to become a TripLeader but it’s not easy to become a great one. How do I create a trip?

Behind every great TripLeader is a well-planned trip. Here we will show you how you can create your own trip on the JoinMyTrip platform to ensure your journey in the creation process is simple and hassle-free.

1. Add a Catchy Name & Clear Description

Be creative with the name of your trip and make sure it stands out.
State key aspects such as if it’s a “Boys only” or “Girls only” trip.
When writing your description, clearly describe your travel style, planned activities, and expectations.
Make sure to be as detailed as possible so TripMates know exactly what to expect.

2. Add Descriptions to your Stops

Include each place you plan on visiting in your trip itinerary and clearly explain what you will be doing. Are you going swimming, watching the sunset, or taking a hike?
Don’t forget to add pictures as well as the mode of transportation in-between each stop.
Pictures can be found on Unsplash or Pixabay. Do not use images from Google!

3. Calculate your Trip Costs

The costs of your trip should include accommodation, local transportation as well as any group activities, depending on the trip.
Understand the costs of your trip and calculate accordingly.
We recommend including a buffer for your trip, as you never know what other costs may occur.

Your trip is published and ready for the world to join, now you’re probably wondering…. what now? Have you filled in your profile? Maybe, shared it with some friends? Is your answer no?

Promote your trip

Let the community know that you’re going on an adventure and that they should join! Add a post advertising your trip in one of our Facebook groups; Remember to always add pictures when it’s possible and a catchy text to the post. This increases your chances of finding like-minded travel buddies. You can find free pictures to use on Pixabay or Unsplash.

Another option is to use social media to your advantage and promote your trip to find your perfect TripMates. How else would you expect your TripMates to find your trip in a pool of other trips otherwise?

Pimp up your profile!

The more information you add about yourself, the more likely you will receive requests from like-minded TripMates. At the end of the day, TripMates want to know who they will be spending their time traveling with.

What to keep in mind?

As a TripLeader you will be traveling with your TripMates and leading and supporting them on their journey to discovering the destination.
You are the go-to person in your group.
